Amir Ali was born in Meknes, Morocco. He studied music there for 8 years. His
studies included classical music theory, Arabic music theory, classical
violin, as well as Oud (Luth). Ali started composing music at the age 15. His
musical prowess earned him a position as a soloist of a 30-piece orchestra at
age 17. Ali left Morocco at a young age and settled down in the United States
of America. He has lived there for the last 19 years.
Amir Ali & Mo’Rockin
Since he founded Mo’Rockin in (1998), Ali has consistently contributed to the
band as a lead singer, violinist and oud player. Mo’Rockin is a unique high
energy band with a blend of sounds from North Africa, the Middle East and
world beat accompanied with electronic instruments. The band under Ali's
leadership creates a groovy driving sound that goes down a treat among fans
from all over the globe. Amir Ali and the band are currently representing
Morocco at Walt Disney World Florida. Members of the Moroccan community have
called Mo’Rockin a head-turner and are proud of having a band that makes
those far away feel close to home.
Achievements
Amir Ali has performed in many events around the United States, conventions,
World music festivals, Disney, Avalon Park, Dallas, Miami, Boston and Ali's
home town Orlando, Florida.
Amir Ali has done session recordings for the giants of the music industry
such as Sony Music, Warner Brothers, Disney, Caliber Records Universal
Studios, Crescent Moon Studios Miami on Shalim's first album with Emilio
Estefan, as well as other projects with various singers and musicians.
Amir Ali has toured and performed with many famous artists including Ahmad
Doughane, Milhim Barrakat, Abboud Adel Al, Majdi Al Husseini (Oumkalthoum's
former keyboard player) and Abdel Halim Hafez. He has also performed with his
best friend, Haj Younes, who said Amir Ali's violin playing is rare amongst
today's violin players of the Arab world. He described it as an amazing and
brilliant style.
Amir Ali has performed at RAWAFID 2004 in Casablanca. He captivated the
Moroccan fans with an outstanding performance along with his American band,
and also stimulated media attention, which led to articles about this artist
appearing in newspapers ranging from Al Alam, Al Ahdath Al Maghribia to La
nouvelle Tribune, Le Matin, Al Bayane and most of the major news websites in
Morocco.
Amir Ali has also performed with the King of Rai Cheb Khaled on his world
tour Khaled and Friends Love to the people produced by Dawn Elder, Cheb
Khaled was very impressed with Ali performance on the violin.
Amir Ali has given four radio interviews, they also play his original music
regularly on the Moroccan National Radio and he was invited to appear on a TV
show.
Projects
Amir Ali has released two Albums Sand’s Of Time and One World with his band
Morockin the albums sold thousands of copies independently over the past six
years.
Amir Ali spring 2006, the release of the solo album MINA.Currently filming
the Music Video for MINA.
He also played a big role for the upcoming movie of BACHIR SKIREJ one of the
cinema pioneers of Morocco, the movie will be released all over Morocco
October 2006, also wrote the music for the movie.
2006 Collaboration album with Grammy Winning bassist Victor Lemente Wooten on
Victor’s upcoming album.
2006 Collaboration album in London England with the musical director of the
album Kashmir of Led Zepplin Hossam Ramzy.
Documentary for the Moroccan TV in Washington DC about his life, the release
of his upcoming Album Mina and the Music video for the song Mina, the Music
Video will be airing in most major Moroccan and Middle Eastern TV stations.

Amir Ali has been a guest star in the TV shows Marrakech Express with host
Fatima Nwali and Masaa Al Phan with Fatima Ifriki, also a TV interview and
performance for the 4eme TV chanel Morocco.
Shared the stage as a guest performer with Hatim Ammor (star of studio
2M-2005) the friendship Feast Festival held in Marrakech every year.
